Waipo opened its doors in 2014, and behind the gastronomic treasure chest stands owner Michael Zhan. He had a vision to elevate Chinese food culture to new heights and share the flavors from his own roots with Sweden. From a humble start on one of Stockholm's tourist streets, Waipo has grown and flourished, and since 2019 they can be found in one of the city's hottest malls.

– Waipo, which means "grandma" in Chinese, creates an atmosphere as cozy as it felt coming home to grandma when you were little. We have created a place where laughter and conversation fill the air and where the familiar core is the heart of the experience. Here, you can forget the stresses of everyday life and simply enjoy really good food while being taken care of and served. Additionally, you can book our semi-private Chambre Separée for a festive and unforgettable evening for up to 30 people, he says.
Classics get a makeover
At Waipo, you get to experience a unique twist on traditional Asian dishes. Classics like juicy pork belly and the infamous shrimp have received a sensational makeover. The dishes are served in tapas format, giving you the opportunity to explore a variety of flavors and create a memorable meal that spans the entire evening.

Michael highlights that the highlight of the menu at Waipo is without a doubt Yum Cha.
– The term "Dim Sum" can be translated to "touch your heart," and that's exactly what Yum Cha is about. It's a traditional Cantonese activity where you eat Dim Sum and drink Chinese tea in the company of friends and family. We invite you to participate in this unique experience with us on weekends.
Waipo offers an extensive Yum Cha menu with steamed and fried Dim Sum, rice porridge, noodles, small dishes, and sweet steamed buns. Here you'll find hearty parcels filled with various flavors, but also delightful sweets to enjoy as dessert.
