Waipo opened its doors in 2014, and behind the gastronomic treasure chest stands owner Michael Zhan. He had a vision to take Chinese culinary culture to new heights and share the flavors from his own roots with Sweden. From a humble start on one of the tourists' streets in Stockholm, Waipo has grown and flourished, and since 2019, they can be found in one of the city's hottest malls.

– Waipo, which means "grandma" in Chinese, creates an atmosphere as cozy as it felt to come home to your grandma when you were young. We have created a place where laughter and conversation fill the air and where the familiar core is the heart of the experience. Here, you can forget the stress of everyday life and just enjoy really good food while being taken care of and served. Moreover, you can book our semi-private Chambre Separée for a festive and unforgettable evening for up to 30 people, he says.

At Waipo, you get to experience a unique twist on traditional Asian dishes. Classics like succulent pork belly and the notorious shrimp have received a sensational makeover. The dishes are served in tapas format, giving you the opportunity to explore a variety of flavors and create a memorable meal that spans the entire evening.

The highlight of Waipo's menu according to Michael is undoubtedly Yum Cha.
– The term "Dim Sum" can be translated to "touch your heart," and that is exactly what Yum Cha is about. It is a traditional Cantonese activity where one eats Dim Sum and drinks Chinese tea in the company of friends and family. We invite you to participate in this unique experience with us on weekends.
Waipo offers an extensive Yum Cha menu with steamed and fried Dim Sum, rice congee, noodles, small dishes, and sweet steamed buns. Here you will find substantial parcels filled with various flavors, as well as delightful sweets to enjoy as dessert.
